It’s Tuesday and as you well know, Tuesday is Nathan day. Let’s go Upside Down…
Hello and welcome to Season 6 in Upside Down Glasgow. Last season we ruled Scotland again winning the League and Cup double but our European exploits where short lived as we got knocked out of the Champions League by a wonderful AC Milan team then knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Salernitana after a shocking first leg. So the aim this season is to make the Group Stages of the Champions League as a bare minimum.

We start the season with a win from the 2nd team against newly promoted Hearts. Gianfranco Orfei opens the scoring. For those wondering who the hell that is it’s CM9798 legend Beppe Signori’s regen. Fitzy and Johansson grabbing the other 2 goals for us.
I rest the 1st team because we have our 1st Round Champions League tie. Against Feyenoord. I swear this game hates me! Ok it’s not AC Milan but it’s not some random team from the Lithuanian league either!

A goal after 3 minutes from Bakayoko gives us a 1-0 win to take to Rotterdam. We should have scored more but poor finishing and a quality goalie performance limit us to 1 goal. Delighted not to have conceded though especially with a grey goalie.

The 2nd team grab another win as Cowdenbeath are seen off at Central Park. Newbie Matty Appleby grabs his first goal for the club. He was signed as backup at wing back from Oldham for £500k. Robbiati the only first teamer in the team grabs 2.

YES! We are into the group stage. Mols opens the scoring but Ortega scores on the stroke of halftime for a vital away goal. Stormer has another stormer in the Feyenoord goal. Let’s check out our group.

Is someone taking the absolute piss here!!
We finish an action packed August with a 4-1 win over Albion Rovers. Wright made a right mess of one of his clearances which allowed an easy consolation for Albion Rovers.

September starts with an easy win to see us through to the League Cup QF. Cavaco starring with a goal and an assist.

Brilliant display in the first Old Firm derby of the season. We batter Celtic in the first half with goals from Robbiati, Sorenson and Negri. Fitzy adds salt to the wound with a 4th in the 90th minute. Brilliant!

Absolutely tremendous start to our Champions League Group. We batter Gothenburg who boast the CM9798 legend Tommy Svindal Larsen as their captain. The highlight being Negri grabbing another hattrick. In all 5 seasons so far Negri has won top goal scorer in the leagues.
We follow up our win in Europe with an easy 3-0 win over Forfar in the league.

We are through to the League Cup Semi Final. Negri scores after 2 minutes but then Stirling put up a fight and have chances to equalise. They tire though and late goals from Fitzy and Charlie Miller see us through.
We finish September win a over Livingston in the league

We are no match for Inter. Ronaldo and Henry upfront is just cheating quite frankly.
Back in the league we beat Dumbarton 4-1 and then grab 2 1-0 wins against Dundee and Ayr Utd.

Might as well have been a training session for AC here. We don’t lay a glove on them once whilst they dance through us at every opportunity.
We beat Hearts 3-0 in the league before our League Cup Semi Final.

We cruise to another final at Hampden. Johansson got us off to a flyer before an own goal from Stenhousemuir keeper and captain Robb. Negri adding the polish with a late 3rd.

We beat Gothenburg again in the Champions League. We basically need to beat Inter and AC Milan to progress. Not likely!
We grab a win at Boghead Park against Clydebank and follow that up with a home 2-0 win against Albion Rovers.

League Cup in the bag. Really happy to get this trophy back after last seasons poor showing in this tournament. I keep faith with the second team and they duly deliver. Fitzy scores in the first 10 minutes to settle any nerves. Bakayoko doubles the lead on the hour mark. Tony Thorpe gives Hibs hope but we manage the game well and pick up the trophy.

Well it’s not enough but this a great result for us. It’s a boring game with limited chances for each team. Charlie Miller sends the Rangers fans delirious with a cracking effort from just inside the area. Inter get going in the second half and we can’t keep out Luca Altomare who scores with his 2nd attempt. Good result but that’s us done in Europe for this season.

Another good win against Celtic as we maintain our 100% record in the league.
We pick up a 4-1 win against Forfar with Negri grabbing a hattrick.

Redemption!! We might not being going through but this result puts some of last season’s demons to bed. Our front two are superb and hound the Milan defence into submission.

We can be proud of this effort in what was always going to be a near impossible group.
Before we go I’ll do a quick round up of what else is going on in the world.
In England Sunderland lead the Premier League by 3 points. The top 5 are separated by 5 points so all to play for. In Division 1 Norwich and Coventry are level on points at the top and 6 clear of the playoffs. Sheff Weds are 3rd again! In Scotland Dundee Utd and Hibs are going toe to toe in Division 1. In Italy in Serie B the current top 4 have a 2 point gap with Empoli leading the way. Finally in Serie A it’s both Milan teams level on points at the top. 2 of the best computer teams I’ve ever seen!
That’s it for this monster update. We are done in Europe but this time we can hold our heads up instead of being disappointed. We have a 100% record in the league and have bagged the League Cup. Join me next time for the final instalment of this crazy Upside Down world. Can we win the league? Can we go out with a domestic treble? We will find out. Until then Bottom’s Up!!
