The Last Roman – Part 8: Fight for Europe | @FMCM_FC

Whisper it quietly but Nath is approaching something that looks like form. Totti is leading the charge but they start with a tough trip to Turin…

Hello and welcome back to another Tuesday in Rome. In the last update Totti was banging the goals in for fun as we continued are solid start to the season. We slipped off top spot but we are still in the hunt for Europe which is much better than last seasons relegation scrap. Let’s see how we go in this update.

Gutted to lose this one. It’s a really entertaining game which neither side deserve to lose. Inzaghi opens the scoring in the second half but Mahlas releases Totti who levels after only 2 minutes. It’s end to end and in the 88th minute a corner isn’t cleared and Zidane fires home the winner. Gutting result.

Class in the first half. Totti is tripped in the box and hits home the resulting penalty. Mahlas then grabs 2 goals before Gautieri grabs a 4th. Now in the second half nothing is happening so i make 3 subs and we then concede 2 goals. I usually don’t make subs for this reason and won’t be doing anytime soon.

A big game calls for a big player. Step forward Francesco Totti! A goal after the hour mark and then a penalty late on to seal a big win against high flying Inter.

We concede late again! Goosens gives Fiorentina a 1-0 lead at half time. Caceres then smashes a header in from a Mahlas corner. 90th minute Kanchelskis fires past Wright to snatch all 3 points.

Straight back to winning ways against lowly Empoli. Gautieri profits from two blocked efforts by Mahlas by slotting home the rebounds. Totti scores a wonder goal from 30 yards and grabs a late second thanks to a flick on from Curtis.

Poor result given Sampdoria are 18th. Big John Curtis gives us the lead but he must still be celebrating after kickoff as Montella scores straight from kick off. Montella scores again in the second half but main man Totti rescues a point for us.

We scrape a win here. The first half is disrupted by injuries to Hughes and Rana. Siegl gives Verona the lead. He was a nuisance in our last game against them as well! In the second half we find another gear and goals from Roll and Mahlas give us all 3 points.

Brilliant result. Vicenza are 3rd currently so this is brilliant. Mahlas hits a stunning volley to open the scoring before laying off Gautieri to make it 2-0 at half time. Mahlas grabs another and Totti gets his customary goal. We concede late on but the game is over at that point.

Another solid update. Let’s check out the league table.

Up to 4th now which is brilliant. Our city rivals are top and only 4 points in front of us. There is only 11 points separating 1st and 10th so it’s all to play for. Join me next time to see if we can close on Lazio and our European run continues with a 2 legged QF against Celtic. Enjoy the rest of your week, here is Totti to see us off.
